FAQs

Apiti - where’s that?

Āpiti is a small rural village known as the gateway to the Ruahine Ranges. We are 50 minutes north east of Feilding and 45 minutes inland from Mangaweka on SH1. We may be biased, but we think Manawatū is New Zealand’s best region.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! Nothing beats gifting an experience to friends and family. Get in touch with the number of nights you would like to purchase, and we will send you a personalised voucher.

Where can I book?

You can find us on Airbnb or Riparide.

Are pets allowed?

They certainly are. There is no discrimination against your four-legged friends. Please note the property is not fully fenced.

What’s the cooking situation?

We have a well-equipped kitchen with an oven and BBQ (no microwave and mixer) to get the creative juices flowing. The nearest supermarkets are in Taihape and Feilding, there is a general store in Cheltenham.

If you would prefer to have someone else do the cooking, check out the Apiti Tavern and Eatery just 50m down the road, or Hansens Cafe in Kimbolton.

Is there WiFi?

There is no WiFi or TV, but there is cell reception. For those wanting to work or have video meetings, the reception is strong enough to hotspot cell data for video calls.

Where can I go on an adventure?

While staying with us or attending an event, why not explore the Ruahine Ranges, scenic glow worms, native bush walks, and rivers.

Bush walks

Manawatū is home to stunning bush walks in the Ruahine Ranges and surrounding areas. Whether you want an easy walk around Mangahuia Wetlands or one with spectacular views like the Rangiwahia Hut track, there is something for everyone.

Ian McKean Pinetum

Ian McKean was a sheep and beef farmer whose real passion was conifer trees. He began planting a variety of conifer trees on his farm in 1958 and today it’s one of the largest collections in the southern hemisphere. Bring a picnic and enjoy the walking tracks through the trees. The views stretch to Mt Ruapehu on a fine day.

Limestone Creek Reserve Glowworms

Bring gumboots for this fun family-friendly mission. A short walk through bush and up a shallow creek brings you to a beautiful cave home to glowworms. The walk and experience is as beautiful during the day as it is at night (you’ll only see the glowworms at night).
